Our Story

Valentine's Day morning of 2012, 2 year old Mya was in a home elctrical fire. Mya's 3 year old brother and pregnant mother were able to escape. At 8 months pregnant, Mya's mom and a neighbor desperately tried to find her way through the black smoke that ingulfed the house. Minutes later when the fire department arrived they rescued Mya who fainted from smoke inhalation with a collasped lung and 3rd degree burns to the muscle of 50% of her body. Mya spent 6 months at Loyola's Burn ICU. She had a long-lasting battle with several infections. This includes a rare infection that is resistent to antibiotics. Mya has had 20 life saving surgeries and will need many more. Fortunately her families prayers for a maracle were answered. Mya is a strong spirited fighter who wants to be just like a Disney princess. The costs of past and future surgeries are staggering. The money raised will go towards medical bills and also for medical cranial prosthesis/wig that needs to be made for Mya so she can have long beautful hair that a strong princess like her deserves.
